Despite being surrounded by woods, sloping down to a small creek, this kitchen felt more like a cramped ship galley. It was not a dream, restaurant-style kitchen in the woods. As an active family these clients wanted to take advantage of the space and setting they were blessed with. A 10’ addition out the backyard was just the solution they were looking for. The insertion of large rectangular and trapezoid windows allow that pleasant outdoors in, while also adding dimension and character. The new vaulted ceiling with skylights transformed this once cramped space into an expansive transitional kitchen that harkens to the rustic.
