This sophisticated master bath is the perfect combination of feminine and masculine! Located in Portland’s Cornell area, the 90’s home was in desperate need of our designer’s magic touch.
Our clients longed for a functional and luxurious walk-in shower that would replace their large built-in tub and cramped fiberglass shower. After re-moving said nuances, modifying the window, and some master space planning, we were able to give our clients the shower they always dreamed of! The space where the shower used to be was utilized by adding a makeup vanity, complete with a pull out and extra outlets for blow dryers, curling irons, and other hair tools.
A crucial variable during this project was our client’s young daughter, who always bathed in the master bath. The base cabinet and open shelves, conveniently located right outside the shower, were designed for her to watch TV, hang her bath robes, and most importantly, store her toy duck collection!
You would never know it, but the added makeup vanity was stained to match the existing cherry wood vanity. A dark gray countertop was the perfect pop of contrast to the beautiful cabinetry. A rectangular shower niche and a modular accent wall give the shower a modern feel. The gorgeous mosaic in the shower niche was repeated on the vanity backslash and mirror surround, providing a sense of cohesiveness. Gray countertops and a rustic wood tile floor are the perfect masculine touches.
